On Hawai‘i Island fire from active volcanoes over thousands of years has always played a role of great magnitude. With a nod to that significance and to Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa’s location on an ancient lava flow from nearby Mount Hualālai, the resort has partnered with Island Breeze Productions to present Firenesia each Monday evening in the incomparable oceanfront setting at Sheraton Keauhou Bay.
During Firenesia the audience will be enraptured as they journey along with a young man as he travels through Polynesia seeking to reignite the gift of fire. With skill, grace, drama and exhilarating dance, entertainers showcase the beauty of fire while their inspiring performances tell a mesmerizing story.
Dinner at Firenesia features Hawaiian lu‘au favorites such as kalua pork, poi, and lomi lomi salmon coupled with familiar green salads, fresh fruit, teriyaki New York strip loin, mahi mahi and desserts.
Following dinner service, with all the drama and anticipation that Island Breeze is known for, the island’s newest lu‘au show begins.
The Old Lahaina Luau takes great pride in presenting an authentic Hawaiian Luau. Your evening with us starts with a fresh flower lei greeting presented by our friendly Luau hosts. Enjoy Island crafts and demonstrations, such as our Imu unearthing of the Hawaiian underground oven, poi pounding and kapa making. Tropical cocktails and beverages are included throughout the evening. Our bountiful buffet is where you will have an opportunity to try traditional Hawaiian foods with a variety to satisfy everyone’s palate. Culminating your evening is our award-winning production of legendary music and hula that will take you on a musical journey through the history of Hawaii and our people.
At the Polynesian Cultural Center, you can participate in island culture and customs that have existed for hundreds of years. A good example of this is the Ali’i Luau—named Hawaii’s most authentic luau by the Kahili Awards. The Ohana Adventure! was specifically created for families, offering kid-friendly games and activities. There are even special hands-on activities visitors can take advantage of, including spear throwing in Tonga, fire knife dancing in Samoa and Maori (New Zealand) war canoe building.
A tropical Mai Tai greeting and live Hawaiian music set the festive mood of the evening. Casually stroll through the Hawaiian Village and learn the Arts & Crafts of the islands or test your skills at our Hawaiian Games.
Germaines Luau is located just 35 minutes away from Waikiki where you’ll find a traditional Hawaiian luau experience on a private beach located on the southern shore of Oahu. You’ll witness a royal procession, followed by the traditional Hawaiian imu ceremony - the ritual raising of the roasted pig from its underground oven. Soon you’ll be feasting on kahlua pig (roasted pig) and other time-honored luau delicacies in addition to some Hawaii favorites offered buffet style. The entertainment is completely Polynesian with dances and bora bora drum beats that will take you on a virtual tour of Tahiti, Samoa, Fiji, New Zealand and Hawaii.
